HYALURONIDASE

Lip filler mustache or uneven lips? Time to start fresh. When lip filler migrates beyond the vermillion border, it is never a good look. Filler migration can happen for a variety of reasons: product selection, injection technique, poor product placement, poor patient compliance, skipping aftercare, years of repeated filler placement, etc. Sometimes, despite our best efforts and the perfect scenario, dermal filler still migrates due to the functional nature of the orbicularis oris muscle. The same applies to other facial muscles as they contract, producing movement. Unfortunately, the migrated filler will not dissolve on its own within any reasonable time.

Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that breaks down dermal filler made of hyaluronic acid into small sugars, which easily disperse. Hyaluronidase treatment has become essential for the correction of complications and/or unsatisfactory results after dermal filler injections. This treatment also helps resolve the occurrence of nodules, bumps, hematoma, vascular occlusion, and skin necrosis.

Attempting to place additional filler in a case of migration will only exacerbate the situation and lead to unappealing results. Trust your aesthetic injector when it's time to proceed with Hyaluronidase.
